The Rewriters – Street Art Route is a free travel and navigation app that offers walking tours through various neighbourhoods of Rotterdam. The app guides you to the most interesting and beautiful street art pieces in the city, showcasing the many surprising sides of Europe's main port city. The walking tours take approximately an hour and a half and are updated multiple times per year to keep you up-to-date regarding the latest developments in Rotterdam's street art scene. The app offers background information on each mural, and it is available in both Dutch and English in spoken and written form.
The Rewriters app also keeps you informed about the latest street art news. Under the “Latest News” tab, you can find new art projects being developed, in-depth interviews with renowned artists, and the latest facts about festivals like POW! WOW! Rotterdam. Additionally, the app allows you to share hot tips with the editors. You can save each route offline, so you can enjoy your guided tours without using an internet connection and data usage. The app makes use of your GPS location, and to save battery life, it is advised to save the desired tour for offline use beforehand and lower the brightness of your screen during use.
